When this notice refers to the “OpenEconomics Website” or “this Website”, it means the web pages accessible at https://www.openeconomics.eu, https://www.externalytics.com and https://www.civiqa.it, any related landing pages, as well as the contact, information-request and support forms made available by OpenEconomics, wherever displayed, including those accessible from within OpenEconomics products.
This notice does not cover processing carried out when accessing and using the Civiqa application (app.civiqa.it), including the public Data Room module. For such processing, please refer to the dedicated privacy notice available within the Service.
OpenEconomics collects users’ personal data while they browse the Website and through the completion of online forms used to request information or services, download free content or reports, request demos, subscribe to webinars or other similar initiatives, as well as to register for, access and use any restricted areas, free tools or free environments made available by OpenEconomics. Users may also voluntarily provide data through communications sent by email or telephone.
The optional and voluntary submission of messages through the forms available on the Website, or to the email addresses provided, results in the collection of the sender’s contact details and any other personal data included in the communication, where necessary to manage the request, provide a response, organise any demo or briefing sessions, and perform the services requested.
When using the Website, OpenEconomics may collect information relating to browsing and user interaction, which may also be collected through cookies and similar tools, subject to the User’s consent where required, in order to understand how the Website is used, ensure its security, measure its performance, and improve its services. The data collected may include, depending on the service requested or the feature used: first name, last name, email address, telephone number, residential address, job title, company or organisation, professional role, IP address, browser type, language, Website access information, and information relating to registration, access to and use of any restricted areas, free tools or other free services made available by OpenEconomics, as well as any other information voluntarily provided by the Data Subject.
OpenEconomics does not collect or process special categories of personal data, such as data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or data relating to health or sexual life. The Website and the services offered are not intended for minors. The collection or retention of data relating to minors does not fall within OpenEconomics’ policy.
Personal data provided to OpenEconomics may be used:

As part of managing user requests and the services requested by users, OpenEconomics may record and update contact details in its management and CRM systems, handle requests internally and assign them to the relevant teams. The processing activities described in this notice do not involve decision-making processes based solely on automated processing within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
When you download free content from our Website, you will receive up to three informational communications over a period of six months concerning updates, related materials and events relevant to the content requested.

- persons delegated or appointed by OpenEconomics to carry out all or part of the activities connected with the provision of the requested services or the browsing of the Website, such as companies providing IT, Website management and maintenance services;
- third parties for the installation of cookies, as described in this Website’s Cookie Policy;
- competent authorities, including courts, for the performance of their institutional duties within the limits established by laws or regulations.
Your data will be disclosed to third parties following their appropriate appointment as Data Processors or, where applicable, recognition of their status as independent Data Controllers. The data will also be processed by OpenEconomics employees and collaborators within the scope of their respective duties and in accordance with the instructions issued by OpenEconomics.
The Data Controller prioritises the processing of data within the European Economic Area. Where, due to the services or platforms used, certain processing activities or access to data take place outside the EEA, the transfer will be carried out in accordance with Articles 44 et seq. GDPR and on the basis of the applicable safeguards, including, where relevant, the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission.
OpenEconomics will process your data with the utmost care and respect. The data collected will be processed using manual or electronic tools, with appropriate security measures adopted to protect confidentiality and prevent the risk of loss or destruction, unauthorised access, or processing that is not permitted or is inconsistent with the purposes described above.
The measures adopted include:
- training and professional development activities for staff, ensuring that any personnel with access to and processing personal data are informed of their privacy obligations;
- administrative and technical controls designed to limit access exclusively to the personal data required for the relevant processing purposes;
- technical security measures, including firewalls, encryption and antivirus software;
- physical security measures, including staff security credentials for access to OpenEconomics premises.
OpenEconomics uses the HubSpot platform to collect contacts through forms, manage landing pages, send communications and manage contact information. HubSpot has been appointed as a Data Processor pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.
Where this option is available, the Data Controller has selected data hosting within the European Union. However, due to the configuration of the services used, specific platform features, the possible involvement of sub-processors and requirements relating to security, support and business continuity, certain processing activities or access to data may also take place outside the European Economic Area.
In such cases, processing is carried out in accordance with Articles 44 et seq. GDPR and on the basis of the applicable safeguards, including, where relevant, the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and any additional transfer mechanisms recognised under applicable law.
Security measures adopted include the use of MFA, SSL certificates and the HTTPS protocol to protect data.

We use Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google LLC that enables scripts and tags on our Website to be managed centrally.
